Postpartum Well-Being
Your postpartum experience matters.
Hello!
My name is Alison and I am a Postpartum Doula supporting families in and around Ottawa, Canada.
The postpartum period can hold both joy and sorrow, calm and overwhelm, and, love and worry. Navigating this time requires preparation, self-compassion, room for rest and a lot of loving support.
I will encourage you to slow down, to lean into rest and to take your time getting to know your new little one. I will honour your feelings and validate that yes, this is incredibly hard work. I will remind you that there isn’t one way to parent and that following what feels right to you means you are on track.
Services
I offer emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your family. My services include postpartum coaching and care, postpartum wellness planning, resource support and postpartum preparation.

Your partner will be working hard to feed your new baby as well as recovering from the process of being pregnant and giving birth. Be there for loving emotional support. Make sure you are spending time holding and getting to know your baby too. Arrange for food and meals and ensure that your partner is getting enough water, rest and support.

A postpartum plan is a resource you create to ensure you will have a supported postpartum experience. You outline your support system, sleep and eating plan, chores that can be outsourced, and things you need for your own wellbeing .
Just like a birth plan, you can’t know exactly how things will go but being prepared can help you navigate things with more confidence.
